Our re-skin users. 5 minutes with Bronwyn Illingworth-Kronfeld

Bronwyn Illingworth-Kronfeld is a mum of two and director of Toni&Guy NZ. Here she chats to re-skin about her daily routine, what keeps her going and her beauty philosophy.

What sets your soul on fire?

I love running my business and developing my team – in work I wear many different hats and this keeps things super exciting and varied.

How do you typically start the day?

15 minute meditation.

Talk us through your A.M. and P.M. beauty routine

PM I take off my make-up with an oil cleanser and then use a cream cleanse, in a glass bowl I pop a few lavender drops mixed with some warm water, and do some face soaking with a nice fluffy face flannel, I repeat this 3 times – I love this ritual. I then spritz my face with a lavender mist apply my re-skin oil over face, neck and chest. Finally apply a eye cream followed by an eyelash serum. (I listen or my audiobook and enjoy the whole process – I relish in some me time). A. M. Repeat my PM routine but no Oil cleanser or lash serum and take my re—skin capsules.

When I don’t have time for the ritual and I am in a hurry I can just cleanse and apply re-skin and I’m ready to go, you don’t have to have the fuss and that works for me too sometimes.

What does a day on your plate look like?

Gluten free, diary free, onion and garlic free – in a perfect world a fodmap follower as I have IBS. To be honest my diet varies depending on where my stomach is at.

Breakfast -Gluten free toast with peanut butter, avocado, tomato and cucumber with a squeeze of lemon.

Lunch -Last night’s leftovers – could be a simple chicken and vegetable stirfry.

Dinner -Could be a nice piece of fish done with some tomatoes, spinach, green leak, lemon/lime, tiny touch of curry paste with a bit of coconut milk. My husband generally cooks for me and he is amazing cook so I am pretty lucky.

Do you have any daily self-care rituals that help you feel your best?

Definitely, meditation, but also I love to listen to something personal development related on youtube to keep my head in a good space. I also like to do Pilates or yoga but I often put work first – I am working at putting me first but don’t have this master yet like most Mum’s.

How do you keep yourself motivated?

I am very goal driven, I love having clear outcomes and goals and relish in the accomplishment of them.

Where would we find you on a Sunday afternoon?

Somewhere with my boys ideally having some well-deserved family time or sitting on the couch with a gin and good book/movie.

If today had an extra hour how would you use it?

I love having facials or massages but don’t do it as often as I should so something like that would be cool or learning something new I’m always studying something.

What’s your favourite destination you’ve travelled to?

Gosh, there are too many – I seriously love Italy, but I had a special holiday with my husband in Bali just the two of us, off the beaten track, chasing surf. The accommodation, food and music was super cool- it was really special.

What corner of the world are you yet to explore but yearning to?

Japan, I am really interested in their design culture

Your proudest achievement to date is…

Probably the British and New Zealand hairdressing awards that I won but I have to say I am extremely proud of my team. We are super close and are always striving to better our skills and the delivery of our service. I got called out for outstanding leadership on a global platform post Covid19 and this would not have been possible without my amazing team so I am pretty proud of that too.

The best advice your mother gave you

When juggling too much make sure you compartmentalise everything so that it doesn’t feel like an overload, that way if you have 40 things on your to do list, you realise that it is actually only about 5 and you are just chipping away at each of these.

When are you your most confident?

When I am taking care of myself, through meditation, new learnings, diet/exercise, great hair/skin/make-up and a fabulous outfit. They all work together to complete the story.

What does “beauty” mean to you?

There is more than one way to look at beauty when you have your heart in the right place your spirit speaks volumes.
